A Practice of Embodiment with tea and journaling

Notice shifts in your comprehension this practice…

I’ve been on a two-year quest with No-Name Dracaena (pictured above), exploring the profound knowledge ki holds beyond the confines of language. In this odyssey of unlearning and relearning, I’ve discovered many limitations of words in capturing the essence of plant wisdom. My current vocabulary, I find, severely inhibits my ability to name something outside the existing paradigm.

Our journey began with the traditional penning down of thoughts, AKA journaling. But ki quickly made it clear that this would not suffice. To grasp what Dracaena shares, movement, rather than sentences, became the medium through which ki’s wisdom distills into my being. This bypassing of the conditioned pathways of language and vision is an internal alchemy that purifies sensory input from habituated influences.

It’s challenging to articulate this experience, even with four languages of words to choose from!

I invite you to try a technique that might help you bridge the gap between inkling and embodied knowing:

When working with a plant, instead of analyzing with the brain, let your body become the decoder. Move freely, nothing structured— play with free-flowing gestures to carry what’s coming in from otherkin across and through your physical form.

Once it finds its desired point of integration in the body, let it seep into the tissue through stillness. It’s a dance of reception, where your body distills and assimilates an alchemical elixir of understanding.

Allow this integration to unfold over time, without effort—no doing, simply BEING. Observe the shifts in your cognition that open the way for an eventual dawn of comprehension. It’s a slow process, but when the realization crystallizes, it reshapes your entire being, orchestrated by the body’s innate ability to evolve into what’s necessary before the mind ever conceived it.

I’m curious about your thoughts on this approach and whether you’d consider giving it a try. Your feedback is invaluable in ongoing human-plant research.
