I can’t stop talking about episode 64 of the ReConnect with Plant Wisdom podcast, featuring the insightful Rachel Corby. In this episode, “Mugwort Dreamer,” Rachel delves into the many fascinating life changes she’s experienced as a result her plant reawakening:
- Increased Self-Awareness
- Transformative Relationships
- Flowing Community Connection
- Profound Self-Exploration and Healing
- Personal Re-Wilding
… in her own words, everything.
In one part of the conversation, we fell into the thorny topic of discipline. You know me, I am ANTI-DISCIPLINE. With Rachel, we explored the realization that creating a relationship with a plant person doesn’t require strict timetables.
Instead, we talked about a more intuitive and flexible approach that invites listening to plants to guide the process. Allowing those spontaneous moments of connection to arise is incredibly powerful. We so rarely give ourselves permission to follow our natural inclinations. And yet, when we open ourselves to deeper and more meaningful interactions with plant persons, nothing short of magick unfolds.

Our conversation reminded me that meaningful connections don’t always fit into rigid schedules. By allowing these organic moments to happen, we often unexpectedly find time with plant companions we never thought we have. This approach not only enriches our day-to-day lives, but also fosters a deeper understanding of how to create relationships with all persons around us—be it human, plant, or other.

Endangered Tigrillos Featured on Cat Food
Shopping for a friend’s cat, I discovered Wilderness by Real Nature features tigrillos on several products! This is the first time I’ve seen my namesake, Leopardus tigrinus, on anything commercial. Given our endangered status, it’s thrilling to see us in the mainstream. I only wish they had included information to support wildlife institutions like Proyecto de Conservación de Aguas y Tierras (ProCAT), who take such good care of us when hurt by human acts.
